Outpatient Peer Support SpecialistLOCATION
Elizabethtown, KentuckyQUALIFICATIONS
high school diploma or equivalent be willing to obtain and maintain Peer Support Specialist Certification in Kentucky familiarity with various recovery models: 12 Step, Rational Recovery, faithbased initiatives, medicationassisted treatment (MAT)RESPONSIBILITIES AND TRAINING
coach and model recovery manage a caseload facilitate group and individual sessions help patients navigate life circumstances (rent, obtaining food stamps, etc.) help patients define their personal recovery goals teach and model coping techniques and selfhelp strategies empower patients to overcome and combat the stigma of addiction support medicationassisted addiction recovery when appropriate support whichever recovery strategy works best for the individual patient participate in monthly supervision with clinical supervisor maintain peer support certification under the direction of the Sober Living Director complete training in crisisintervention, standard first aid, and CPR by a certified instructorSHIFT:
