We are seeking a Registration Specialist to provide outstanding administrative and clinical support for our school-based clinics and community health programs. This role is essential to connecting patients with the care they need while ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the first point of contact—greet patients/clients, answer calls, and route messages. Schedule, verify, and confirm appointments, including reminders and follow-ups. Register patients, verify insurance and financial information, and determine eligibility for services. Collect service fees, reconcile daily transactions, and process billing. Maintain accurate patient health records in the EMR system. Support community outreach activities and collaborate with Fayette County Public Schools staff. Assist with first aid, vaccine storage/handling, referrals, and immunization entry. Room patients and record vitals when nursing staff is unavailable. Translate for providers and nurses if bilingual.
Requirements:
High school diploma (or GED) and 1 year of clerical or clinical experience, or equivalent training/experience. Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Knowledge of medical office operations and patient confidentiality. Flexibility to work in both school clinics and main HealthFirst Bluegrass locations. If assigned to outreach, valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
