Job Description

Local, fast-paced, growing specialty practice looking for a Full-Time Insurance Verification Specialist. Northlake Gastroenterology Associates is comprised of 6 physicians, 3 NPs, 2 offices, 2 Ambulatory Surgical Centers, and an Anesthesia company. We are continuously advancing and making strides to keep up with the modernization of the medical field and industry standards as a whole. We are looking for a full time experienced medical Authorization Specialist. This position requires a strong work ethic, excellent organizational qualities, EMR knowledge, able to adapt and multitask successfully in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate pays attention to detail and is self-motivated with a positive attitude. Always the team player. Experience and knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, deep understanding of the different Medicaid plans and how to identify them, office visit schedules, phone etiquette, great customer service skills, and basic office equipment is necessary for this position. Pay is negotiable based upon the applicant's experience, knowledge, and credentials. Roles & Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to): Verifying member information is correct - contacting insurance company and patient when needed Print schedule reports daily to ensure that all upcoming procedures have been reviewed and verified whether authorization was or was not needed. Also, that the approved has been approved and finalized if needed. Checking procedure benefits for gastrointestinal procedures such as Esophagoduodenoscopy, Colonoscopies (screening & diagnostic), ERCPs, Etc. Cross-training in other areas of the practice such as: front desk, appointments, procedure scheduling, authorizations, and/or billing depending on experience & knowledge base
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years authorizations required, gastroenterology specialty experience a plus
Computer/Technical Skills:
Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe is preferred. Operate a multi-line answering system. Other general computer skills should be proficient as well.
