The Lexington Eye Associates team is led by board-certified doctors considered to be leaders in the field of ophthalmology. Our friendly and hardworking team helps with the wellbeing of our patients. If you are friendly, detail-oriented, like people, and like the fast pace of a medical office, this may be the job for you! This role serves as the first point of contact between our patients and the practice. Patient Service Specialists provide high quality healthcare services to our patients with a commitment to our values and mission. Candidates must be dependable, organized, possess a strong team mentality, excellent customer service skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to problem solve when dealing with difficult situations.
Daily tasks include:
Checking in/out patients, collecting co-payments, obtaining prior authorizations for specialty medications and diagnostic imaging Scheduling appointments, problem-solving, and schedule optimization Obtaining, managing, and troubleshooting referrals and authorizations Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Communicating proactively with clinical staff and billing staff regarding any issues concerning patient care
Requirements:
Previous experience in the healthcare industry and
EPIC EMR
preferred Must be a team player and willing to work together Must have efficient communication and documentation skills with attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Previous EMR (EPIC electronic medical records) experience preferred. Must possess a personable, collaborative attitude, and the ability to prioritize many different projects simultaneously.
