Job Description

(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (General) - Academically Affiliated Behavioral Healthcare Facility providing Mental Health and Co-occurring Addictions Care for older adolescents and adults is seeking an Adult Inpatient psychiatrist. The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, clinically effective psychiatric care to adults, adolescents or children. Staff Psychiatrists have medical|clinical authority and responsibility for admitting, patient care, and discharge of patients admitted to the unit. Responsible for medical administration and, in some cases, supervision of APRNs, implementing clinically sound, consumer-oriented services in collaboration with the Medical Director. Psychiatrist will carry a maximum caseload of 12 patients. Average patient LOS, 8 - 10days. Abides by policies, procedures, and medical staff training and compliance that promote a positive work and treatment culture, measurable patient quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance. Advanced level knowledge in psychiatry and in the application of clinical treatment modalities with population(s) served. Effective oral and written communication skills. Experienced in clinical supervision and training. Strong organizational and team-building skills. Skilled in maintaining regulations applicable to programs and services (e.g. Joint Commission, CMS, DPH, DMH, etc.), teaching|training skills desired.
