Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Office Biller to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Prepare and submit medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements Review and verify patient information, insurance details, and medical records for accuracy before billing Assign appropriate codes such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding to procedures and diagnoses Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, adjustments, and collections within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure correct documentation for medical coding purposes Stay updated on changes in healthcare claims management, health insurance policies, and coding standards to ensure compliance Experience Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management Familiarity with medical coding systems including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and ICD coding practices Hands-on experience using billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting Knowledge of healthcare claims management processes and health insurance procedures Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients, insurance providers, and team members Ability to interpret medical records accurately for billing purposes Prior experience in medical collection efforts is a plus Join us in delivering exceptional financial accuracy and outstanding patient care through your expertise in medical billing!
