Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Assistant Temporary 1099 Independent Contractor Position Summary The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Assistant supports the preoperative preparation of patients scheduled for surgery or procedures. This is a temporary 1099 independent contractor position with an initial 90-day engagement and the potential to transition into a part-time or permanent position following the initial period. This role requires previous medical or healthcare experience, strong patient communication skills, and the ability to obtain and document vital signs. An RN license is not required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with patient intake, including obtaining and documenting vital signs and basic medical information. Support pre-admission testing activities and patient preparation. Assist with patient records, documentation, and communication with patients and healthcare team members. Follow established PAT procedures, patient confidentiality requirements, and facility policies. Provide additional PAT support within the scope of the position as needed. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous medical or healthcare experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience obtaining and documenting patient vital signs preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to recognize patient concerns and appropriately escalate them to licensed clinical personnel. Preferred Experience Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, EMT, or in another healthcare support role is preferred. Position Structure This position will begin as a temporary 1099 independent contractor engagement for an initial 90-day period. At the end of the 90 days, there may be an opportunity to transition into a part-time or permanent position based on performance, operational needs, and mutual fit. Scope of Position The PAT Assistant does not independently perform nursing assessments, diagnose medical conditions, provide medical advice, determine surgical or anesthesia clearance, or perform duties requiring professional clinical licensure. Clinical concerns are referred to the appropriate licensed healthcare provider.

$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 24.0 per week
