Job Description
Front Desk Reception/Scheduler - Medical Office
THE POSITION
We are seeking a self-starting, experienced individual to join our clinic as an Front Desk Reception/Scheduler in our Physical Therapy Department. As a part of our Front Desk team, you will greet our patients in a friendly manner and check in and check out patients for appointments. You may also assist patients on the phone in making, altering and canceling appointments.- You accurately record patient information and route patient calls to the correct department or individual.
- This position requires you have close attention to detail, impeccable phone etiquette, and working knowledge of common medical terminology.
- Our ideal candidate has prior receptionist experience, especially in a physical therapy/ medical setting, with excellent data entry and communication skills.
- This is a Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm position
THE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Answer patient calls, field questions, and assist patients in making new medical appointments and greet patients in a friendly manner. Also able to be cross trained for other Front Desk areas.
- Change or cancel appointments as necessary
- Accurately note all patient information according to confidentiality standards and HIPAA requirements
- Route call to the appropriate department or individual
THE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Knowledge of common medical terminology
- Prior receptionist/phone experience, ideally in a medical clinic or physical therapy environment
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
