Emergency Room Registration, 1500-2315
SCHEDULE:
SA, SU, M, TU - TH, F, M, TU WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS REQUIRED
The registration clerk interviews incoming patients prior to admission to gather demographic, insurance, and emergency information as well as screening questions for potential pandemic situations. Ensures accurate completion of paperwork, sign-in and security procedures in compliance with HIPAA, explains facility policies, prepares and attaches patient identification bands/labels, escorts patients to the appropriate service area and act as a hospital ambassador, and collection of copayments, assists family members, and conducts research for prior medical records and orders. Assists patients in the collection of outstanding patient accounts.
Experience and Education:
Minimum:
Computer/data entry experience required. Previous Patient Access or insurance experience required
Preferred:
High School Graduate or GED Microsoft Windows with programs such as Word and Excel Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required Personal technology device to download DUO application to enable access to hospital email by multi-factor authentication. Ability to multi-task and perform with frequent interruptions Understanding of Health Insurance plans as it relates to the Revenue Cycle Become Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Possess and maintain excellent written and oral communication skills. Become proficient in Computer data entry. Be knowledgeable about various state and federal laws and will ensure compliance.
