Job Description

Family Nurse Practitioner-Preadmission Testing at Trinity Health-Minot, ND Trinity Health is seeking a family nurse practitioner for preadmission testing for surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing care in the pre-admission setting and performs preoperative medical assessments, risk stratification, orders and interprets labs and diagnostic testing, provides patient education and perioperative optimization, and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing to reduce cancellations and improve patient outcomes. This position conducts clinic visits and telephone visits.
Practice Details:
Clinic schedule is M-F; no holidays, no weekends. No call required. Preferred experience in OR, general surgery, cardiac, or internal medicine but not required. Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, focused history, physical exam, and perioperative risk evaluation. Order and interpret required preoperative labs and diagnostics according to protocol; communicate abnormal results and escalation needs. Provide patient education on pre-op instructions. Conduct telephone preadmission calls and follow-up as needed.
Qualifications:
Licenses and Certifications Required Current ND Board FNP License required. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training, with certification every two (2) years, preferred. ACLS certification, with certification every two (2) years, preferred. Educational Requirements Education as required to obtain and keep current ND NP license. Experience Requirements Extensive knowledge of established professional medical concepts, principles and practices, required. Experience in specialized medical areas, preferred.
