Shifts Vary Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking Patient Access Representatives II in Lebanon, NH. This role supports departmental efficiency through scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission/admission, reception, and discharge functions. The Patient Access Rep II must accurately obtain patient demographic data and perform compliant patient liability collections before, during, and after the date of service.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers and provide world-class customer service Complete full patient registration at date of service Adhere to financial and cash control policies and procedures Explain and secure hospital and patient legal forms (e.g., Advance Directives, Conditions of Service) Scan Protected Health Information and manage patient information packets/folders Educate patients on financial liabilities and employ compliant collection techniques Perform hospital cash reconciliation and secure payment entry following policies Verify insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility in line with CMS guidelines Complete assigned registration and financial clearance activities Obtain insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled hospital services Secure inpatient visit notifications to payors Assist with scheduling and coordinating post-discharge care as needed
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year customer service experience Preferred 1 year administrative experience in medical, health insurance, or related field Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM Working knowledge of PC, CRT, and printers Familiarity with hospital functions preferred Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Effective oral and written communication skills Medical Terminology course required Understanding of Third-Party Payor requirements preferred Ability to perform duties in at least two Patient Access service areas, including ED Skilled in professional negotiation for patient/guarantor collections Ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally
