MedCorps Asthma and Pulmonary Specialists, LLC, is a leading pulmonary practice with offices throughout southern Jersey dedicated to providing exceptional medical care to our community. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Office Receptionist to join our team and contribute to our mission of improving patient health and well-being.
Position Overview:
As a Medical Office Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, creating a positive and welcoming experience. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our medical office by efficiently managing patient appointments, collecting co-pays, handling inquiries, and maintaining a well-organized front desk.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued. Schedule and confirm patient appointments and follow-up visits. Maintain accurate patient records, including demographics, insurance information, and medical history. Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members. Verify patient insurance and collect co-pays or payments as needed. Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure a seamless patient flow. Maintain a clean and organized reception area. Handle administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, data entry, and coordinating with pharmaceutical reps for lunches. Assist with insurance billing and claims when required. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Minimum education high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required (2-3 years). Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems (Athena preferred). Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is an advantage. Experience with Athena and online insurance verifications systems such as Navinet and United Health Care is a plus. Ensuring referrals are in place and insurance is valid. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Reliable and punctual.
