Job description: ID Care, LLC is seeking a Full-Time patient service representative for our East Burnswick office with required coverage to our Hamilton, Hillsborough, Princeton and Somerset offices. If interested in the position, please read the job description below and apply.
Pay rate:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
General Summary :
A nonexempt, clerical position responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls and greeting/assisting visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Involved in scheduling patient appointments and verifying patient information according to ID Care policies and procedures and properly directing patient calls to appropriate ID Care staff/department. None Essential Job Responsibilities :
Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Routes call appropriately, offering voice mail, paging or redirection of call needed. Greets visitors and assists them as appropriate. Phones or pages employees to meet visitors, directs visitors to appropriate waiting areas, and appropriately and courteously screens solicitors for relevance to organization's needs. Schedules and reschedules patient appointments per established ID Care protocols. Verifies necessary demographic and insurance information and records data in EMR per established ID Care protocols. Explains financial requirements to patients or responsible parties and collects copay as required per ID Care protocols. Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Operated :
Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephone, etc.
Work Environment :
Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work. Exposure to communicable diseases and biohazards is possible.
Requirements Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent At least two years as a receptionist in a medical office environment required. One or more years' experience in customer service. Must be able to travel to ID Care central locations when needed.
Performance Requirements :
Knowledge :
Knowledge of medical terminology and organization services. Knowledge of EMR system.
Skills :
Ability to use multi-line telephone system, including transferring calls & paging. Adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients. Ability to speak loudly enough to be heard by callers and patients.
Ability :
Elicits appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person. Manages patient calls or disputes by working with them to identify concerns an properly direct calls.
Mental/Physical Requirements :
Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Other Requirements:
1.
Influenza:
All employees of ID Care shall be provided the influence vaccine. Employees will be required to obtain the influenza vaccine by December 1 of each calendar year. 2.
MMR:
If born in 1957 or later, employees must provide serologic evidence of immunity or documentation of 2 MMR vaccinations. If an employee requires a measles antibody titer, s/he may have it drawn at ID Care. If non-immune, ID Care will provide the vaccination. 3.
Varicella:
Employees must provide serologic evidence of immunity, prior vaccination, or history of varicella disease. If an employee requires a varicella antibody titer, s/he may have it drawn at ID Care. If an employee is non-immune, ID Care will provide the vaccination. 4. Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis: Employees must provide documentation of a one-time dose of Tdap to assure immunity to pertussis. If there is no history of Tdap, ID Care will provide the vaccination. Tdap vaccine must be updated every 10 years. 5.
PPD:
Employees must have an appropriate screening test for tuberculosis. This can be accomplished by a chest X-ray or a Quantiferon test within 7 days of employment. New ID Care employees and anyone on a deferral are required to meet the requirements of the policy as soon as possible after starting employment or following the end of the deferral.
