Responsibilities :
Greeting patients and visitors warmly while checking them in and out of the office; Establishing a positive first and last impression Handling identification and insurance documentation; Collecting, verifying, and updating patient information using electronic health records (EHR) and patient management software Scheduling appointments efficiently, coordinating with medical staff to optimize clinic flow Assisting patients with insurance verification, authorization processes, and understanding health coverage policies Maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other health regulation policies Answering incoming calls promptly, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately; Managing heavy phone, text message, and email communications with the appropriate systems and apps Supporting medical administrative tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems Promoting quality communication among staff and patients to ensure professional, safe, and effective individualized care Maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures Adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, as well as federal, state and local requirements Processing payments and financial transactions Stocking supplies Other duties as needed
Skills :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication Strong knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person Familiarity with patient management software and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems Understanding of medical terminology and health insurance processes Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and typing skills
Requirements :
2-3 years of front office/administrative duties, preferably in a medical/physician office setting. Flexibility in response to unexpected changes in workload, staffing and scheduling. Great attitude, Coachable, and Hardworking Punctual, on time daily and dependable Strong communication skills in person and on the phone Strong computer skills Experience working in the medical field.
