Bilingual Korean/ English Medical Office Assistant Dr. Chung's Medical Office - 3.0 Palisades Park, NJ Job Details Part-time | Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications HIPAA Medical scheduling Administrative experience Korean Attention to detail Organizational skills Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a warm, highly organized, bilingual Korean/English Medical Office Assistant to join one of our two medical practices in Bergen County, New Jersey. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance companies, ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient service. Your expertise in medical administrative support, electronic health records (EHR) management, and patient communication will help facilitate efficient clinic workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while utilizing your bilingual skills and clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment. Part-time candidates are preferred, although full-time candidates will also be considered. We will discuss both practice locations with each candidate to determine the best placement. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly in both Korean and English, providing excellent front desk customer service and phone etiquette in a fast-paced setting. Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate clinical visits using EHR systems. Locate and maintain both physical and electronic patient records. Organize laboratory results and other clinical documents for physician review. Review and update medical records with accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Verify insurance coverage details related to Medicare and other health plans; explain benefits to patients clearly. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient clinical workflows and ensure timely patient care delivery. Communicate clearly with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and families. Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as appropriate. Experience Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations. Experience with medical billing processes, insurance claims submission, and Medicare procedures is desirable, though not required. Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with EMR systems is preferred. Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette to manage patient inquiries efficiently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced medical office. Prior medical-office or administrative experience is preferred but not required. We welcome applicants who demonstrate maturity, reliability, and a genuine interest in learning. Schedule Part-time shifts are generally available during the following hours: Monday through Friday, AM shift: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, PM shift: 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday shift:
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Full-time arrangements may also be considered. Applicants should indicate their preferred schedule and general availability when applying.
