The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for our patients by delivering compassionate, patient- centered service. This position is responsible for accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, obtaining required documentation, collecting applicable payments and ensuring a seamless registration experience. The representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service during stressful and urgent situations. As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include: Responsible for coordinating and facilitating registration and admissions by obtaining pertinent demographic information, collecting accurate insurance information authorizations to financially clear outpatient hospital accounts The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and promote patient satisfaction Service orientated background, good written and verbal communication skills and accurate typing ability Demonstrates initiative and motivation in role; proactively identifies and resolves problems in an appropriate manner and escalates issues to leadership when necessary Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude Works closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments to foster a team environment Participate in training through the development of training tools, presentations at department in-services or staff meetings, or through the training of registration staff outside the patient access department This role might be for you if: You thrive in a fast-paced environment. Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred:
Medical insurance verification and authorization experience preferred Patient Access experience preferred Knowledge in all aspects of registration, Non-federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care preferred Medical terminology and computer skills
