Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact by answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries. Register patients and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information. Verify insurance eligibility and collect required signatures and payments at time of service. Support financial processes including payment collection, receipts, and daily reconciliation. Update patient records in hospital systems and ensure documentation accuracy. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients regarding coverage, co-pays, and balances. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, EMTALA, and regulatory standards. Support additional coverage needs and respond to supervisor feedback as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Less than 1 year of clerical or healthcare office experience required 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred Strong ability to work cooperatively with the public, staff, and leadership at all levels Excellent organizational and prioritization skills required Basic computer keyboarding and 10-key skills required Must successfully complete EPIC Registration competency following Epic Clerical Training Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire All benefits-eligible Presbyterian employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, group term life insurance and other optional voluntary benefits.
