Job Description
Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care is a premier orthopedics practice proudly serving Rockland County. We currently have an exciting opportunity available as a Medical Office Receptionist that is based in our Nanuet location.
Job Summary:
This position requires flexibility to support multiple practice locations based on staffing and operational needs. Associates may be required to provide coverage at any practice location. Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between assigned locations is required. The role of MPA is an administrative all-encompassing position that is comprised of workflows that adapt based on the needs of the practice. This medical office assistant will answer the phone and direct individuals to the appropriate channel as needed. In addition, this role will coordinate the provider's schedule to ensure patients are seen appropriately for their appointments, referrals and follow up appointments. This MPA will verify insurance and collect payments and ensure payments are accurately recorded. In addition, this role may obtain prior authorizations for all medications, durable medical equipment, procedures, and diagnostic tests for all patients, including workers compensation and commercial payers.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verification of patient identity and insurance information
- Confirmation of provider name, appointment time, and
COVID-19
screening- Facilitation of patient to complete required pre-visit forms/e forms
- Schedule surgical procedures and explain patient financial responsibilities
- Collection and accurate recording of copays and payments
- Coordination of communication via receiving, placing and transferring of phone calls as required
- Coordination of reviewing and drafting of emails as required
- Collection of outstanding patient account balances
- Pre-authorization of patient services and procedures via insurance
- Creation, cancelation or reschedule of patient appointments
- Facilitation of referral process for additional specialty procedures and/or tests
