Primary PartnerCare Physicians, a primary care group with doctors in Nassau, Suffolk & Queens is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist/Patient Coordinator for our Smithtown location. This is an exciting time as the location undergoes beautiful new construction to relaunch the site! Our primary care practices have longstanding relationships with our patients and we are truly their medical home. The Front Desk Patient Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the complexities of patient care including insurance eligibility, finances (copays), appointment scheduling and follow-up, preventive care, and quality metrics are all performed in a proactive manner for maximum patient service and provider efficiency. $500 Sign On Bonus and Annual Year End Performance Bonus of $1,500 As a Front Desk Patient Coordinator, you will: Serve as 1st point of contact for patients, greeting and confirming patient information (address, phone, email, insurance) Provide administrative support such as keying new information into the practice management software, securing referrals online for the patients, and helping to make appointments with specialists so patients get the care they need Scan insurance cards and check patient insurance eligibility, using your critical thinking to resolve issues before the patient is seen Maintain and coordinate calendar of patient's appointments Make follow-up calls for doctors to ensure sick patients are properly followed Collect patient copays/deductibles and book into the software Reconcile cash collected with the software and the "cash drawer" Explain insurance coverage and patient responsibilities for services Participate as part of the patient primary care team to make sure the patients remember to get all their preventive care such as mammograms, flu shots, colon cancer screening and more! Flexibility to be team player, and cross train We require: Three+ years of Medical Office administrative experience; or a Bachelors Degree and 1 year experience Proficiency with online websites and navigating software Experience registering patients and collecting patient copays Experience doing referrals and pre-certifications Knowledge of insurance and how it works, including checking and clearing eligibility Caring spirit that recognizes each patient as an individual Strong organizational skills - in healthcare, there is always A LOT going on Pre-certs a plus (Rx and Medical/Surgical)
