Donor Coordinator Full-time $22/hour Join our team and help nourish fragile babies The New York Milk Bank is dedicated to improving the health and survival of infants in need by providing them with safely pasteurized donor human milk when their mothers' own milk is unavailable or insufficient. We are seeking an energetic and motivated person to join our Donor Relations Department for an initial 6-month period, with the possibility of a transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs. The Donor Coordinator is an essential role that supports achieving our mission by ensuring the collection, quality, and safety of milk donated to the milk bank. This position will work closely with donors as well as the community to help raise greater awareness of the New York Milk Bank and the services we offer.

Role:

Donor Screening & Engagement :

The Donor Coordinator is a critical team member responsible for screening potential milk donors via phone and email. The coordinator will engage with donors using excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, and sensitivity while collaborating closely with the donor team. Key responsibilities include receiving and checking in milk donations upon arrival at the New York Milk Bank offices. Additionally, the coordinator will manage the distribution of materials to our donors and our network of milk collection sites (milk depots) across the Tri-State region.

Full-time, non-exempt, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM on-site position .

United States Job Responsibilities :

Donor Screening & Engagement Develop deep understanding of donor screening process and guidelines Screen potential milk donors via telephone Keep milk donor records up-to-date via phone, email, or fax Receive, unpack/check in, and record milk donations in electronic tracking system Coordinate activities with NYMB milk collection sites throughout New York State Support Community Events and attend conferences and community outreach activities conferences as needed Keeping track of cleaning supplies and participating in weekly deep clean of receiving and milk check in areas Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Work experience: Candidates will have relevant work experience such as two years as a patient care representative or intake specialist

Education:

College level education preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in English Maintains confidentiality and is comfortable discussing sensitive material Able to follow established protocols with significant attention to detail Able to learn new tasks and multi-step processes in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management skills Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Able to maintain clean conditions according to protocols Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis Ability to stand for long periods of time Act in a professional manner through reliability, integrity, and treating others with respect The New York Milk Bank is a nonprofit milk bank accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA).
