Patient Representative
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Patient Representative to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient service. In this role, you will manage patient interactions, facilitate appointment scheduling, verify insurance information, and support the overall efficiency of clinic operations. Your proactive approach will ensure a welcoming environment and smooth administrative flow. Responsibilities Greet and direct patients, vendors, and visitors as they arrive in a friendly and professional manner.
• Register patients when they arrive for their appointment; Verify patient data is correct and up to date. Schedule appointments for patients both in person and on the phone; Enter appointment data into scheduling system Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of health information management. Collect and verify insurance information; Collect co-pays and other patient payments when needed Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive experience at every visit. Support administrative tasks such as data entry, appointment reminders. Promote efficient, organized and pleasant office operations in the health center, consistent with the mission of CHC to offer care in an atmosphere of dignity and respect Scan documents received from other medical offices; Scan documents into system and enter into patient electronic chart where appropriate Requirements At least 1 year experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Athenahealth. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and multi-line phone systems. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Sitting for long periods, dexterity for computer typing
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 24.0 per week
