(8-5) & F (8-3) Toledo Clinic - 3.3 Toledo, OH Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Phone communication High school diploma or GED Office phone management Full Job Description The Toledo Clinic's Gastroenterology Department, located at 4235 Secor Rd in Toledo, is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant to provide front office clerical support and, when needed, assist with rooming patients. The hours are Monday-Thursday (8:00-5:00) and Friday (8:00-3:00). Previous experience in a medical office is strongly preferred. General Summary Performs various clerical duties to support the operation of the office. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule. Answering phones - courteously and professionally. Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc. Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications. Updating insurance information. Answering general patient questions. Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel. Escorting patients to exam room Adheres to all Clinic policies and procedures. Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To Collecting co-pays. Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets. Preparing and cleaning exam rooms. Sorting and filing patient charts. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Required:
Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire. Completes all tasks within established time frame. Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required. Computer skills helpful. Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed. Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles. Adheres to all Clinic policies and procedures.
Education:
HS diploma or GED required.
Preferred:
Previous clerical experience in a medical office.
