Job Description

DEFINITION
The Team Lead performs all of the general duties required of an Admissions Representative which includes but is not limited to (1) obtaining required information for the admission of patients, ensuring (2) that all patients are greeted in a courteous and prompt manner. (3) all financial information is obtained and entered correctly and (4) all patient information is protected as confidential. In addition to admissions duties the Team Lead acts as the focal point for answering questions and assisting the admissions staff with day-to-day problems/operations. The Shift Leads assists the Admissions Supervisor, helping to resolve scheduling and staffing issues that occur as a result of unscheduled staff absences. The Lead also acts as a stand in for the Admissions Supervisor in their absence. The Shift Lead will take call and staff in as necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of progressive experience in the capacity of an admitting representative in a hospital or healthcare setting. Demonstrated ability with PC and software programs preferably McKesson Paragon or other hospital software used to admit patients. Ability to maintain control in high volume, high stress level venue. 2 years of business management experience in a lead or supervisory role with duties pertaining to scheduling, staffing and leadership. Medical terminology a plus as well as a strong knowledge of medical insurance plans. Ability to calculate and collect financial responsibility from patient. Excellent customer service skills as well as time management skills, flexibility in schedule including openness to change. High School Diploma preferred.
