Job Description
Job Summary Extonarthritis is a rheumatology and infusion practice dedicated to helping patients manage arthritis and other autoimmune conditions. We're looking for a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team and manage the billing and prior authorization process for specialty and biologic medications. Duties Verify patient insurance benefits, coverage, and out-of-pocket responsibility prior to dispensing Coordinate with distributor for medication procurement, delivery, and refill scheduling Enroll and manage patients in manufacturer copay assistance and patient support programs Document all billing, authorization, and communication activity accurately in the software Communicate proactively with providers and clinical staff regarding authorization status, denials, and approvals Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing discrepancies related to medications Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies, formulary changes, and pharmacy billing regulations Assist with medication inventory tracking and ordering as needed Skills Active Pharmacy Technician certification/registration (CPhT or state equivalent) is desirable 1-2+ years of experience in pharmacy billing, prior authorization, or medical billing (specialty/infusion pharmacy experience strongly preferred) Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS/J-codes, and ICD-10 coding as applied to medication billing Experience with EHR/practice management systems required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple authorizations at once Excellent communication skills for working with patients, providers, payers, and specialty pharmacies Willingness to be cross trained on other areas of practice Join us in making a difference through dedicated pharmacy services!
