1860 Fair Ave, Ste A, Honesdale, PA 18431 (30 minutes from Scranton)

Advanced Practice Providers Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our Gastroenterology (GI) practice. The Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing provider schedules, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive timely care and that the practice operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Appointments:
Manage incoming calls and schedule patient appointments based on urgency, provider availability, and procedure types.
Coordinate Provider Schedules:
Maintain and adjust physician and advanced practice provider schedules to optimize patient flow and meet practice needs.
Procedure Scheduling:
Assist in scheduling procedures, including coordination with our surgery center, hospitals, or other facilities.
Appointment Reminders:
Confirm appointments and send reminders to patients via phone, email, or text, reducing no-shows.
Patient Communication:
Provide patients with information about their appointments, including pre-procedure instructions and any necessary preparation.
Insurance Verification:
Collaborate with the insurance team to ensure that appointments are pre-authorized and insurance coverage is verified prior to scheduling.
Triage Calls:
Direct calls and inquiries to the appropriate departments or staff, ensuring that patient concerns are handled promptly.
EMR Documentation:
Accurately input appointment information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system and ensure that patient details are up-to-date. Other Duties as
Assigned:
Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the efficient operation of the practice.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical office experience or scheduling experience preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, particularly in scheduling or front desk roles, is preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office. Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment with a high level of professionalism. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
