Job Description
Associate Registrar Empire State University's Office of the Registrar seeks an innovative and collaborative Associate Registrar to lead strategic initiatives that enhance student records operations through technology, data, and process improvement. This leadership position oversees key registrar functions including student systems and transfer credit operations while partnering across the university to improve the student experience and support enrollment, retention, and graduation goals. The Associate Registrar serves on the Registrar's leadership team and provides operational leadership, project management, and supervision while ensuring compliance with university policy and federal regulations. This position offers an opportunity to shape the future of registrar operations by leveraging technology, data, and innovation to improve institutional effectiveness and create a seamless, student-centered experience. Primary Responsibilities Lead technology initiatives, system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements for registrar operations. Serve as a functional expert for Ellucian Banner and related student systems, evaluating enhancements and coordinating testing, implementation, and user adoption. Oversee assigned registrar operations, which may include office process improvement and transfer credit. Analyze business processes and implement technology-driven solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, scalability, and customer service. Collaborate with Information Technology Services, Decision Support, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, and university partners to develop innovative solutions supporting institutional priorities. Lead cross-functional projects that advance student success, enrollment, retention, and graduation. Develop reports, documentation, workflows, and training materials while promoting consistent business practices across the university. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a registrar's office, enrollment management, student information systems, or related higher education environment. A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience with Ellucian Banner or a comparable enterprise student information system. Experience leading technology implementations, business process improvement initiatives, or major operational projects. Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions. Supervisory or significant project leadership experience. Working knowledge of FERPA and academic records administration. Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Degree Works, transfer articulation, curriculum management, or academic records systems. Experience with SQL, reporting tools, business analytics, or data visualization. Experience with project management, business analysis, or process mapping methodologies. Special Information Occasional travel, as well as evening and weekend hours, may be required to fulfill departmental, divisional, and university-wide commitments. Rank/Salary:
Associate College Registrar, SL4 / $80,000-$85,000, dependent upon experiences and qualifications.
