Variable, project-based — no guaranteed weekly hours; availability requested as projects arise (typically 15+ hours/week when active on a project) About Revu Healthcare Revu Healthcare is a healthcare consulting firm specializing in compliance, revenue integrity, and audit review services. Our team includes certified coders, consultants, nurses, and physicians dedicated to helping healthcare organizations maintain regulatory compliance and coding accuracy. We partner with hospitals, health systems, and consulting organizations to deliver high-quality outpatient coding audits, validation reviews, and compliance support. Position Overview Revu Healthcare is building a talent pool of experienced Outpatient Medical Coders (CPC) to support coding validation and audit projects on an as-needed basis. This is a 1099 independent contractor role structured around our project pipeline: once onboarded, you'll be added to our roster of qualified coders and contacted as matching project work becomes available. Acceptance into the roster does not guarantee immediate or continuous assignment — placement depends on active client project needs, and contractors may experience periods without active work between projects. This role is ideal for professionals with strong outpatient coding experience who want flexible, project-based work and are comfortable being on standby between engagements. Responsibilities (when assigned to an active project) Perform outpatient coding reviews and validation audits Review medical record documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance Identify coding discrepancies and provide clear rationales Follow client-specific audit tools, workflows, and scorecards Meet project productivity and quality expectations Attend project kick-off calls, training sessions, and periodic team meetings as needed Maintain HIPAA compliance and data security standards Submit completed work and time entries according to project requirements Responsibilities (when not actively assigned) Maintain access to client systems by logging in once a month Required Qualifications Completion and passing of the Revu Healthcare outpatient coding assessment Active CPC certification (AAPC) — CPC-A not accepted Minimum 5 years of outpatient coding experience Prior coding audit or validation experience Ability to commit to 15+ hours per week when actively assigned to a project Strong knowledge of: CPT coding guidelines

coding Outpatient facility coding Experience working in various EMR systems Proficiency with: Microsoft Teams Microsoft Outlook Excel Strong written communication skills for audit rationales Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience with outpatient ED coding reviews Experience with Epic or Cerner Prior consulting or contract coding experience Familiarity with audit scorecards and QA processes Specialization in Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding Experience with surgical coding Facility/technical coding experience Additional Information This is a remote, flexible, project-based independent contractor role. Successful applicants are added to Revu Healthcare's talent roster and contacted as project opportunities arise that match their qualifications. There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours, ongoing work, or a specific start date; assignment timing depends entirely on client project demand. Contractors are permitted, but not required, to work weekends and after-hours (5:00 PM-9:00 AM ET) if it suits their schedule; work may be completed at any time within project deadlines. Contractors must maintain their own equipment and secure internet connection. All work must be performed in compliance with HIPAA and client confidentiality requirements.
