Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients in the Emergency Department, verify information, collect copays for diagnostic services and pre-register patients for outpatient services. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians and family members and setting the tone for how their visit to the Emergency Department goes.

  • This is a remote, part-time role. A caregiver in this position will work the following schedule:
  • Week 1: Sunday and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Week 2: Monday, Friday, Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Training will be held on-site at CC Main Campus for first several weeks.
  • A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform registration and complete an accurate face-to-face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information.

+ Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.

+ Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.

+ Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role with in-person or phone contact +

  • OR•an Associate's Degree and one year of experience + •OR•a Bachelor's Degree + Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year + Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems •
Physical Requirements:
  • + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. + Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment. + In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system. + In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
  • Personal Protective Equipment:
  • + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Pay Range
  • Minimum hourly: $15.

75 Maximum hourly: $21.65 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
