The Senior Patient Access Representative provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enter information into a electronic medical record. Primary Responsibilities:
Collects demographic and insurance information Documents any issues and resolutions in electronic medical record Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete registration for complex accounts Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results focusing on complex billing situations Obtains cost information and explains information to patient if necessary Collects co-pay or deductibles Assists and counsels patient with application process for available financial assistance programs Assists patient with setting up payment plans or connecting with resources for outstanding balances Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
2+ years of revenue cycle experience in a hospital/healthcare setting 2+ years of customer service experience Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Products Ability to work 8:30am-5:00pm CST Monday-Friday Reside within a commutable distance of Minneapolis, MN Ability to travel onsite 2-4 times per year Must be 18 years or olderPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic medical records Patient Access and/or Financial Counseling experience- All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.
