Part-Time | 14-21 hours per week Pink Ribbon Gals is seeking an organized, compassionate, and dependable Referral Intake Specialist to join our team. This position plays an important role in creating a smooth experience for patients from the moment we receive a referral through the scheduling of their first appointment. The Referral Intake Specialist serves as a key point of communication between our patients, referral sources, insurance team, and clinical staff. The ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with patients, enjoys keeping details organized, and is persistent about following up to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. A medical background is not required but preferred . Experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, insurance, patient scheduling, or referral coordination is a plus. Responsibilities Receive and process new patient referrals accurately and promptly. Make initial contact with referred patients to welcome them, explain the next steps, and assist them through the intake process. Send intake paperwork and follow up with patients to ensure all required documents are completed and received. Schedule patient appointments and ensure necessary information is in place prior to the appointment. Coordinate with our insurance team to ensure benefits and coverage are verified. Communicate with physicians' offices and other referral sources to obtain prescriptions, medical records, documentation, or other information needed to properly process the referral. Follow up consistently with patients and referral sources when information is incomplete or outstanding. Maintain accurate and organized patient and referral records. Scan, fax, upload, and electronically manage documents as needed. Communicate internally with team members regarding referral status, scheduling, insurance verification, and outstanding documentation. Help identify and resolve issues that could delay a patient's appointment or services. Handle patient information professionally and maintain appropriate confidentiality. Experience Required:
