Carevide Billing Location Reports to: AR Manager The Program Specialist will ensure the policies, procedures and guidelines required for financial programs and grants offered through Carevide are being followed by Carevide staff and that program funds are being utilized according to the specific, current program manual. Each employee is expected to convey an attitude of support and respect for the Carevide Mission, Vision, Values, policies, clients, patients, and employees. The employee is required to follow all guidelines as presented in the Policy and Procedures Manual, including the Safety Orientation Handbook and Center Code of Conduct. The employee abides by Carevide's Compliance Program requirements. He/She protects and maintains confidentiality and supports the direct and indirect service to our patients through team support and cooperation.Education/Experience/Skills :
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Medical office experience (1 year required)
- Knowledge and experience with computers especially Excel & Word
- Ability to multi-task, work with a team, as well as independently to meet deadlines
- Must be detail oriented, organized, able to prioritize projects/tasks
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
- Must be receptive to change and a busy schedule
- Knowledge of Medical front office operations including health insurance & verification, CPT & ICD-10 codes a plus
- Ability to relate with compassion and effectiveness to the patients
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Duties :
- Responsible for having a complete understanding (policies, procedures and guidelines) of all financial programs and grants available at Carevide.
- Responsible for auditing patients' charts that utilize program funds for accuracy and completion of required financial documents.
- Responsible for keeping accurate audit information of all information reviewed.
- Responsible for correcting any errors found in the applications.
- Responsible for keeping the AR Manager informed of errors that are found on a consistent basis.
- Responsible for working with Director of Clerical Services and training team on identifying specific training needs for staff based on audit findings.
- Responsible for monitoring patients' renewal dates for applicable programs/grants and send appropriate reminders in a timely manner.
- Responsible for contacting patients by mail and or other means as stated in policy for obtaining missing application information or for annual renewal.
- Responsible for keeping accurate and organized files and electronic records on patient application follow up and contact.
- Responsible for verifying with patient address, phone number and date of birth prior to discussing any patient information.
- Responsible for monitoring reports on patients applying for Medicaid and verify eligibility status.
- Responsible for obtaining & documenting monthly reports on members assigned to Carevide for all managed care plans.
- Responsible for answering phones within department.
- Responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the AR Manager.
