Job Summary:
Contributes to overall goals of the department. Provides secretarial support for the agency. Responsible for office schedules, correspondence, and effective communication as well as assisting billing and data collection.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred 2-3+ years of healthcare administrative experience (rehab, outpatient services, hospital registration, referrals, or medical office preferred) Experience with:
  • Prior authorizations and insurance verification
  • Patient scheduling and referral management
  • Patient registration and demographic/insurance accuracy
  • Medical coding and charge entry (CPT/ICD-10 knowledge)
  • Billing workflows and denial prevention
  • EMR/EHR systems
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance requirements preferred
  • Experience working with
PT/OT/SLP
departments preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, therapists, and payers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Perform secretarial duties for department. Maintain and efficient filing system, including patient's clinical records. 2) Responsible for all department reports to Administration and Quality Improvement Committee. 3) Receive telephone calls. Make phone calls to patients and families when necessary. 4) Orders and maintains proper level of office supplies for department. 5) Responsible for pre-certifying patients for therapy sessions.

1) Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
