About Us TexMed Home Health is a locally owned, family-operated agency that has proudly served Central Texas for over 20 years. As an ACHC-accredited agency, our mission is simple: provide exceptional, compassionate clinical care directly to patients in their homes. The Opportunity We are seeking an organized, proactive Medical Assistant or experienced healthcare professional to step into our Medical Office Coordinator role. This position is an ideal fit for a Medical Assistant looking to bring clinical know-how, triage mindset, and medical terminology into an impactful administrative coordination role. You will work behind the scenes to keep referral pipelines, therapy orders, and physician communications running smoothly so our patients get the timely home care they need.
Key Responsibilities Referral & Intake Management:
Receive, review, and process incoming patient referrals; audit documentation for completeness and promptly resolve missing details.
Physician Orders & Signatures:
Coordinate, track, and follow up on physician orders and required clinical signatures to prevent delays in patient care.
Therapy Coordination:
Track and process Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy (PT, OT, ST) orders and documentation.
Provider & Clinic Outreach:
Serve as the primary liaison communicating with physician practices, clinics, therapists, field nurses, and families.
EMR & Records Management:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in strict compliance with HIPAA and agency guidelines.
Clinical Team Collaboration:
Communicate referral statuses, route incoming clinical faxes/documents to the appropriate departments, and assist with admission preparation.
Qualifications Required:
Medical Assistant experience or comparable medical office / healthcare coordination background. Working knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows. Proven computer and data-entry skills with high attention to detail. Strong written, verbal, and phone communication skills when working with medical providers. Excellent organizational ability with strong follow-through on pending tasks.
Preferred:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Previous experience in home health or outpatient care coordination. Familiarity with tracking PT, OT, and ST orders and obtaining signed physician orders. Experience working within home health EMR platforms.

Pay:
