Job Summary:
The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure effective operation of the internal medicine practice. This individual will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check-in patients, verify insurance, and collect cp-pays Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately Schedule and confirm apartments Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails Assist with billing process and insurance verification Ensure compliance with HIPPA and office policies Provide general clerical support as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred. 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting preferred Proficient with EHR systems (e.g, NEXTGEN, HealthFusion, eClinicalWorks) Strong communication and organizational skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
