Job Description
Methodist Health System seeks a Medical Assistant / Patient Representative to support compassionate, efficient care in our Dallas-area clinics. In this dual role, you will room patients, obtain vitals and histories, prepare exam rooms, and assist providers, while also managing front-desk duties such as registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and co-pay collection. Responsibilities Greet and register patients, verify demographic and insurance information Schedule appointments, manage check-in/check-out, and collect co-pays Obtain vital signs, patient histories, and document in the EHR accurately Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with exams and minor procedures Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments Handle patient inquiries with compassion and professionalism in person and by phone Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with policies and regulations Support clinical workflows to optimize patient flow and reduce wait times Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and support staff to deliver patient-centered care Participate in ongoing training, quality initiatives, and process improvements Required Skills Vital signs measurement Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Patient registration and scheduling Insurance verification and co-pay collection Medical terminology Phlebotomy and specimen collection basics Rooming patients and clinical prep HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Front desk and phone systems Basic Microsoft Office and healthcare software
