Job Description
Methodist Health System is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant/Patient Representative to support our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this dual role, you will room patients, obtain vitals, perform basic clinical procedures, manage documentation in the EHR, and coordinate scheduling, check-in, and check-out. You will support providers, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and assist with referrals and authorizations. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, empathy, strong communication, and teamwork while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories Assist providers with exams and basic clinical procedures Document encounters accurately in the EHRCoordinate patient scheduling, check-in, and check-out Verify insurance, collect co-pays, and process payments Support referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards Provide clear patient instructions and education Answer phones and manage patient messages professionally Collaborate with nurses, providers, and staff to ensure efficient patient flow Required Skills Vital signs measurement Phlebotomy and specimen collection EKG performance Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Medical terminology Insurance verification and authorization Patient scheduling and registration HIPAA compliance Front-desk operations and telephone etiquette Clinical triage and patient flow management
