3008189855-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Patient Service Center Assistant to support front-line patient registration and specimen processing in a busy medical laboratory. In this role, you will greet and check in patients, verify insurance and orders, collect and label specimens, and maintain accurate data in CPL systems. You'll coordinate with phlebotomists and lab staff, answer phones, and uphold HIPAA and safety standards. Responsibilities Greet and register patients at the service center, verifying demographics, insurance, and test orders accurately Collect, label, and prepare specimens according to CPL protocols and safety standards Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments in the laboratory information system Handle patient inquiries in person and by phone, providing clear, courteous communication Ensure accurate data entry, specimen tracking, and documentation to support timely test results Coordinate with phlebotomists, couriers, and laboratory staff to support efficient workflow Maintain reception and collection areas for cleanliness, organization, and patient privacy Follow HIPAA, safety, and quality guidelines to protect patient information and support compliance Required Skills Patient registration and check-in Medical front office procedures Healthcare data entry and accuracy Laboratory or specimen handling protocols Use of EHR/LIS or practice management systems Insurance and order verification HIPAA compliance and patient privacy Customer service in healthcare settings Phone and appointment scheduling systems Basic medical terminology
