Team Lead, Patient Access Emergency Department | Full-Time | Three 12-Hour Shifts (Friday, Saturday & Monday | 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) Lehi, UT Lead the Front Line of the Patient Experience At R1 , every patient interaction matters. As a Team Lead, Patient Access , you'll play a critical leadership role in ensuring patients receive exceptional service from the moment they enter the Emergency Department. In this position, you'll support daily Patient Access operations, coordinate registration and scheduling activities, assist with departmental goals and performance initiatives, and serve as a key liaison between clinical and administrative teams. You'll also help develop team members, maintain operational excellence, and contribute to a positive patient experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment. What You'll Do Support Daily Patient Access Operations Coordinate Patient Access activities, including patient registration and front-end revenue cycle processes. Help ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional customer service within the Emergency Department. Serve as a resource for team members and assist with day-to-day operational questions and challenges. Partner with leadership to support departmental goals and operational priorities. Promote compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Lead Through Collaboration Support communication and coordination across teams to ensure seamless patient experiences. Assist in implementing initiatives that improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. Build positive relationships with physicians, nurses, leaders, and support staff. Monitor Performance and Reporting Run, review, and distribute operational reports as directed by leadership. Help identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence. Support Department Administration Maintain policies, procedures, spreadsheets, presentations, and department records. Support leadership with special projects and operational initiatives. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Experience working with reports, spreadsheets, and operational data. Strong verbal and written communication skills . Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and teams. Preferred Qualifications Previous leadership, mentoring, trainer, or team lead experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Patient Access, healthcare registration, scheduling, revenue cycle, customer service, or a related healthcare environment. Experience working in an Emergency Department or acute care hospital environment. Knowledge of healthcare registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and revenue cycle processes. Experience supporting quality improvement or operational initiatives. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
