Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Aides (PCA) to join our team and provide exceptional support to residents in various care settings. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including but not limited to seniors, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor residents' health by observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to nursing staff or supervisors. medication reminder Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal presentation while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, sanitation of resident areas, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. May need to provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring resident safety at all times. Document care activities accurately in resident records, including notes on resident behavior, progress, or any incidents related to dementia or Alzheimer's care. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly preferred. Familiarity with care plans, medication reminder, CPR certification, and HIPAA compliance is required. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while assisting residents with mobility or transfers Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and homecare teams. Experience working with seniors or in geriatrics settings is a plus. Demonstrated understanding of resident's rights and dementia or memory care best practices. Valid PCA, CNA or HHA certifications in Virginia is necessary
