Hampton, Virginia | Full-Time Make a Difference Every Day Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse looking for an opportunity to use your nursing skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of adults in your community? Join the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) as a full-time LPN in our Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services program. In this role, you will be an important member of a multidisciplinary team providing person-centered support to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. You'll work alongside psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to help individuals achieve greater stability, wellness, and independence. What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the Virginia State Board of Nursing. At least one year of experience administering medications in a psychiatric, substance use treatment, or long-term care setting. Experience with the dispensing and administration of controlled/narcotic medications. What You'll Do As an LPN, you will provide essential nursing support and help ensure our clients receive safe, compassionate, and quality care.
Responsibilities include:
Assist the staff psychiatrist and treatment team with medication management. Administer and document medications in accordance with established policies and procedures. Conduct health screenings and nursing assessments. Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in health status. Provide health education and supportive nursing interventions. Communicate important health and medication information to members of the treatment team. Maintain accurate and timely medical and nursing documentation. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support individualized treatment goals.
