How you'll contribute A Registrar who excels in this role will: Gather and verify patient account information, insurance coverage, and ensure accurate entry of demographic, billing, and clinical data, including assigning medical record numbers. Distribute and explain forms, obtain necessary signatures, and meet with patients or caregivers to exchange essential information. Communicate with physician offices, nursing units, and other personnel to coordinate admissions and determine placement. Verify insurance benefits, obtain precertifications/authorizations, and process payments or refer to financial counselors as needed. Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and registration software efficiently to manage data and support documentation compliance. Collaborate with departments and resolve registration issues to facilitate smooth patient admissions and ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
