What they do

A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Days or Nights Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner must consistently meet or exceed customer expectations by assessing, treating, and/or testing patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction per physician orders and protocols. They must document patient responses to such and integrate clinical expertise to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes.

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
EXPERIENCE
0-2 years of experience or greater as a respiratory therapist
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP), and Basic Life Support Provider (BLS). Prefer
PALS & NRP. ACLS
may be required depending on the assigned department. This job will be authorized 0.01 hours bi-weekly.
