A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

About us West Shore Post Acute is a skilled nursing facility in Alameda, CA. We are looking for a Respiratory Therapist to join our team and provide specialized care to patients with breathing and other cardiopulmonary disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating patient conditions, developing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and providing education and support to patients and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a highly respected team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess patient's respiratory condition. Administer respiratory treatments and medications as prescribed by a physician. Educate patients and families on proper respiratory care techniques. Provide emergency care to patients with respiratory distress. Perform pulmonary function tests and interpret results. Assist with the setup of ventilators and other respiratory equipment. Keep accurate records of patient's progress.
Pay:
$48.00 - $52.00 per hour
