A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Conducts comprehensive respiratory and skin assessments to design, implement, and update interdisciplinary care plansRoutine & Advanced Therapeutics:
Performs routine procedures including mechanical ventilation, aerosol therapies, spirometry, airway maintenance, medical gas administration, andEKGs Emergency Response & Physician Collaboration:
Responds immediately to Code Blue and STAT emergencies, administering life-support care (BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS) and assisting with advanced bedside proceduresMedication Administration & Safety:
Administers medications using strict hospital identifiers, processes orders with mandatory read-backs, manages Omnicell inventory, and updates MARs accuratelyDocumentation & Continuity of Care:
Completes all patient education, shift documentation, and billing promptly while tracking missed treatments to ensure uninterrupted patient careJob Requirements Required Respiratory Care Practitioner:
