In this vital role, you will operate hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers to provide life-saving treatments for patients with various medical conditions, including wounds that are difficult to heal, decompression sickness, and other hyperbaric indications. Your expertise will ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care while adhering to strict safety protocols and clinical standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers, ensuring all equipment functions correctly before each session. Monitor patients closely during treatments, assessing vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall response to therapy. Assist with patient assessment, including reviewing medical histories, verifying contraindications, and preparing patients for treatment procedures. Maintain detailed documentation of each session, including treatment parameters, patient responses, and any adverse events. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols related to hyperbaric chamber operation, emergency procedures, and infection control standards. Provide patient education on treatment processes, safety measures, and post-treatment care to promote comfort and compliance. Qualifications Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist from an accredited organization is required. Proven experience working in hospital medicine or outpatient settings with hyperbaric chambers preferred. Strong background in critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine with familiarity in airway management and ventilator support. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, respiratory therapy techniques, and medical terminology relevant to hyperbaric treatments. Experience handling acute care situations within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Competence in patient assessment skills including vital signs monitoring and medication administration. Prior experience in pediatrics or geriatrics is a plus for providing specialized patient care across age groups. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or outpatient clinics with a focus on safety and precision.
