A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) is a specialized healthcare professional responsible for providing respiratory care in a pediatric intensive care unit at a facility located in Denver, Colorado. This position involves delivering advanced respiratory support and managing ventilator equipment for pediatric patients during night shifts.
Job Details:
Shift Time:
Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Schedule:
12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months current Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Respiratory Therapist (RRT) experience, Level 111 NICU experience, and possess certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with critical care experience, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, prior Meditech system experience, and additional pediatric experience will be considered first.
Additional Information:
The unit primarily supports respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients using equipment such as G5, Servo, Avea, HFOV, Jet, and V60/V30 ventilators. The team fosters a patient-centered environment emphasizing communication with staff and providers, and adheres to established unit policies and guidelines.
