2996666691-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Hartford Healthcare seeks a Neurocritical Care specialist to join our advanced ICU team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, leading multidisciplinary rounds and managing advanced monitoring and life-support therapies. You will collaborate closely with neurology, neurosurgery, and allied health professionals while communicating clearly with patients' families. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive neurocritical care to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions Perform advanced neurologic assessments, interpret neuroimaging and diagnostics, and develop evidence-based treatment plans Manage ventilators, hemodynamic support, intracranial pressure monitoring, and complex multimodal neuro-monitoring Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds, collaborating with neurosurgery, neurology, nursing, pharmacy, and rehabilitation teams Communicate clearly with patients' families regarding prognosis, goals of care, and treatment options Participate in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and patient safety efforts within the Neuro ICUSupervise, teach, and mentor residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers Document care accurately in the electronic health record and ensure regulatory and institutional compliance Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with neurocritical care guidelines and research Participate in on-call coverage, including nights and weekends, as part of a shared schedule Required Skills Neurocritical care management Advanced neurologic examination and assessment Mechanical ventilation management Intracranial pressure and multimodal neuromonitoring Neuroimaging interpretation (CT, MRI, CTA, CTP) Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management Airway management and emergency neurological life support Procedural skills (central lines, arterial lines, lumbar puncture) Interdisciplinary team leadership and communication Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
