What they do
A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Valid credentials as a Respiratory Therapist and/or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Current state licensure required BLS certification; additional advanced life support certifications are a plus Prior experience in acute care, critical care, or hospital-based respiratory therapy strongly preferred Proficient in performing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical settingsResponsibilities:
Assess, plan, and deliver respiratory care to diverse patient populations Administer and monitor respiratory therapy modalities (oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, ventilator management, airway clearance techniques, etc.) Perform and evaluate diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function tests Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to optimize patient outcomes Educate patients and families on disease management, equipment usage, and respiratory health maintenance Accurately document interventions and patient progress in electronic health records Comply with infection control and safety guidelines at all timesBenefits/Perks:
