1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift role at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and RRT certification. Details Work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00pm-7:00am) Must float between two nearby campuses that share a parking lot and shuttle service Every other weekend required No on-call requirements No self-scheduling or special scheduling accommodations permitted; schedules assigned based on unit staffing needs Charting system: Epic Uses ventilator management equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and high frequency oscillators Experience with Hamilton C6 ventilator preferred ECMO and high-risk delivery assistance experience preferred Pediatric critical care experience preferred Requirements RRT and ACLS certification required; BLS required NRP and PALS certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required Trauma experience required, Level I trauma center experience preferred Extra Corporal (ECMO) experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Experience with therapist-led protocols Skilled in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation Proficient in airway management, suctioning, extubation, and tracheostomy care Experience with medication delivery systems including MDIs, nebulizers, and aerosol setups 1 professional reference required License required if applicable First-time travelers accepted Additional Information Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal patients in a high-acuity NICU setting Work as part of a multidisciplinary critical care team Navy blue scrub color required Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine booster required except for religious/medical exemptions Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Former staff must have separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler Facility can auto-approve up to 7 days of requested time off Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
