Job Description

Join HCA Healthcare as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in our NICU, providing advanced respiratory care to critically ill newborns. You will perform respiratory assessments, manage ventilators and oxygen therapy, support neonatal resuscitations, and collaborate closely with neonatologists and NICU nurses. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill and premature neonates in the NICU. Perform respiratory assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with neonatologists and NICU nurses. Manage neonatal ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen therapy, adjusting settings based on patient status and protocols. Assist with and lead aspects of neonatal resuscitation and emergency respiratory interventions. Obtain and interpret arterial and capillary blood gases to guide treatment decisions. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Educate and support families regarding respiratory treatments and equipment. Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards within the NICU. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
